As I wake from the darkness
Ascending through depths of despair and decay
Gazing out at a world unfamiliar
Grasping for hope in this land of dismay
After all I’ve inflicted
All of my pain, the sorrow I’ve caused
Fallen leaves whisper the story
A path to atone, to lead me to the Dawn
Set my eyes on horizons
Framed by the gold light that never falls dark
One foot steps forward to venture anew
Winter’s pain lingers, still seared on my heart
If dust is the past that I had hoped to build
If all that surrounds me is that which I feared
Death’s gift no longer burns bright in the hearth
Nothing brings hope but the thought of a new Dawn
I’ll follow the Guidance
May the blessings of the Grace redefine me
Let the light become a tool of my power
As I set into the Lands that are cursed forevermore
Let me start anew
Guide me forever
Help me bury all the pain that torments me
Let my deeds undo the wrongs I have caused thee

The twilight crept in long ago
The blackened skies washed pain away
And fires that burned deep within

Eternal solitude for those who dare to dream
And by the hands of mortal man
I crumble; to dust, we all return
The trail I tread in agony
Leading nowhere, fading from my sight
No answer comes to me

The veil of death awaits no more
Into serenity, a life beyond the void
In the shattered world that consumes us all
In this land left in ruin
A temple that fell from the sky
A manifestation of hubris, where men
Lie bereft of their power to die
The order of gold ever-watching
A ceaseless and all-knowing eye
Though Tarnished I stand in the Lands of the Light
I feel their dark whisper inside
Destiny is guiding me to break this chain you laid
As I rise upon the tide of golden grace
I’ll set the Lands ablaze, raise at their heart a crimson flame
After all, I have become the man you made
Consumed by the fires of ambition
Igniting my darkness within
Yet blurring the lines of the truth that I sought
Pulling me deeper beyond realms of thought
I will not cave to the horrors
I will not bow to their call
As nightfall draws closer and dreams turn to dust
I will not wait till the ending of all

Endless caverns, a world inside a dream
A true lucidity
On this endless plane I lie
A labyrinth inside
A world within which I can fly
The darkness of the horrors past
It lingers ever on
Tantalising me with hope
And here I cannot hide
The horrors of my cell revealed to me
Terrors clawing out of memories I fear
Black serpents twisting, encircling
I’m lost beyond the dream
Who am I to slip from the clutches of the void?
Who am I to rid myself of her voice?
How can I ever feel safe again in my own mind
When all I see is her inside?

As shunned as I am by the light deep inside
In darkness I’ll delve to find hope redefined
Fly, over cavernous chasms imbued with the fire
Of men who have fought and have died by the sword
Of steel rendered true, quenched in blood so pure
Dive into the destiny I dreamed
That life forgotten
Purgatory chasing at my heels
Deliver me
Fleeing from the prophecy I feared
A hope abandoned
Demons ever clawing from the deep
Deliver me from death
Oh, as echoes of battle flow thick though my veins
Bleeding the colours from memories of sorrow
Immersing myself in a past filled with horror
Oh, thousands and thousands marched into the deep
With swords drawn held high, their armour shone bright
Now lost to their graves, the eternal night
Look into the light ahead
And see what I’ll become
An Omen slain, his throne to claim
A Tarnished, above
Forge into oblivion
Gaze at the world to come
With death unchained, all souls unclaimed
This chaos, undone
Deliver me from death

Wake up,
Free myself from within the dream
Feel the claws of death surrounding me
I know this battle can never end
As minds collide inside one whole
And I fall
Between it all
And behind the flames, beneath the ash
Beyond what I have done
A light from heavens up above
Revealing all that is to come
The end of all that came before
This greater will now split in two
Take me away
To begin this final tale
To shatter all that once lay still
If cold lies the ash on my tombstone
As spectres look down on my grave
If dark are the embers that once burned so bright
A now-faded past won’t rekindle their light
Dark lies the soul of a life lived in lies
But guidance of grace brought back sense to my sight
A pillar of flame shining gold in this night
And behind the flames, beneath the ash
Beyond what I have done
A light from heavens up above
Revealing all that is to come
I now know what I’m searching for
It’s written in the stars
And as the leaves begin to fall
My freedom found, I close my eyes
